It is a misunderstanding that Tama / Orozco / Kohno /
Sakurai guitars are heavy built concluded by the
thickness of the top in the soundhole. This is just a reinforcement
ring of about 5 cm width. If you want to examine this
feature on your instrument just look at your
guitar the way the picture has been taken.
You will see two layers of solid spruce sticked onto
each other. By feeling the sound board with your fingers
in the direction of the sides you must be able to feel
the outer ends of this thickening "ring".
